Challenge: Remodel the interior to define new entry, circulation and dining areas. Provide direct access from the living spaces to the garden. Delineate clearly between the public and private realms.
Concepts: A long ‘Cabinet Wall’ was inserted between an existing hallway and the kitchen & dining area. While clearly defining the boundary between public and private, this thick wall is penetrated with open shelving and a generous portal linking the dining area to the library and the south-facing garden beyond.
